Acoustic Testing For Part E

Requirements

What is Sound Insulation Testing?

Sound insulation testing is a method of testing the efficiency of the sound insulation in party walls
and floors through the measurement of noise passing between adjoining properties.

The building regulations Part E sets the standard that all new dwellings should meet in order to
achieve building control sign-off.

Noise pollution is a major factor when determining a healthy living environment and can be a tricky
problem to solve in the case of larger developments, such as blocks of flats, where the individual
dwellings are enclosed within a single building.

When is Sound Testing Required?

The formal sound testing is required upon completion of your build, but please get in touch at early stages to ensure a pass first time.
