Thermography Surveys

What is a thermography survey?

A thermal imaging survey of the building fabric identifies where air leaks in or out of buildings and shows thermal insulation defects. The main benefits of a thermographic survey are:

  • quick, non-disruptive inspection

  • results easily shown in pictures

  • show compliance with specification

  • get sustainability assessment credits such as BREEAM

As you can see in the image above on the left, a thermography camera can detect heat loss and this can be seen at the top of the curtain walling ( main entrance ) and also above the curtain walling on some areas of the parapet

wall.

Red / white is hot ( heat loss ) & blue is cold.

A normal camera would not show you heat loss. The camera converts infrared data into an electronic image that shows the apparent surface temperature of the object being measured.

Why use REDFANsolutions?

We use advanced equipment to ensure that our reports are more detailed. We use cameras with a 640x480 rate with the option of 1280x960 rate, which means that our images have many more pixels than standard cameras on the market.
